Tech Features and Specifications of the 2022 Kia EV6

2022 Kia EV6 is Kia’s first dedicated electric vehicle. It is an excellent choice for buyers planning to buy an electric car.

The EV6 is a perfect example of the crossover that is expanding the capabilities and choices of the latest electric vehicles.

Kia EV6 features several advanced features and delivers top-class performance. Read this blog post to find more details on the performance and technology specifications of the 2022 Kia EV6.

2022 Kia EV6 Electric Performance

The 2022 Kia EV6 is available in four configurations.

It comes with two with RWD and two with AWD.

The RWD model gets a 58-kWh battery. The rear motor offers a complete system output of 167 horsepower.

The AWD model packs a larger 77.4-kWh battery with a rear motor that generates 218 horsepower.

Both the AWD models get a 77.4-kWh battery.

One model produces 313 horsepower with the support of two powerful motors, one is at the front and one at the back.

The EV6 GT trim, which is the top trim, boasts a more eminent front and drear motor to generate 565 horsepower to all four wheels.

The battery charging speed remains one of the top priorities for drivers and battery capacity. The faster they recharge the battery, the quicker they get back on the road and their destination. When the recharging speed reaches refueling speeds on gas-powered cars, it is where the actual takeoff begins for EVs.

The Kia EV6 gets close with a multi-charging system. It supports 400-volt and 800-volt direct current charging.

With DC fast charging, the Kia EV6 recharges at rates between 50-kW and 350-kW. As a result, drivers can add 70 miles of range in less than 5 minutes. The EV6 recharges up to 80% capacity in less than 18 minutes using the ultra-fast charging mode. That translates to 210 miles of driving range.

The base Standard Range of the EV6 battery recharges in around 6.3 hours using the Level 2 charger. On the Long Range models with rear-wheel drive, the Level 2 charging takes approximately 8.7 hours for recharging and 8.4 hours for the AWD model.

2022 Kia EV6 Highlights

 Infotainment System

Kia delivers luxury in terms of the tech features in the all-new 2022 Kia EV6. It consists of an infotainment system of a dual 12.0-inch display that extends into a widespread display throughout the dashboard. It also features a virtual reality head-up display. It projects three-dimensional images of the windshield’s navigation, speed, and driver assistance information.

Some other features comprise:

  • 14-speaker Meridian Audio System
  • Wireless Smartphone Charging
  • Last-mile navigation gives the driver walking directions when the car is parked within 1.2 miles of the destination.

Kia EV6 Interior Features

Kia created the EV6 cabin formulating many technology and comfort features not found on the previous Kia EVs. The EV6 ranks above the other top-tier Kia models.

The 12-inch instrument cluster joins the 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display behind the single sheet of black glass. It uses one sheet of glass presents, which appears to be a single, expansive and seamless display.

The display bends slightly towards the driver for easy viewing and its operation in the center. The instrument cluster utilizes virtual technology for displaying critical driving data. Drivers and passengers can customize the information they wish to see.

The Blue light-filtering reduces eye strain and user fatigue. Kia EV6 includes a stylish two-spoke steering wheel with black and white trim and a flat bottom for sporty inspired handling. The matching trim on the center console gives a sophisticated touch.

Kia’s remote operations platform UVO Link allows EV6 owners to access connected vehicle applications. The functionality includes smart speakers for Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and stolen vehicle recovery. It also features Kia Pay for retail purchasing at participating outlets. The UVO Link enables remote start, unlock and lock capability.

Kia EV6 Exterior Features

The Kia EV6 presents a bold appearance from the front with boomerang-shaped headlights. It also gets daytime running lights with a moving light pattern design.

The hood is set low at the front; it slopes upward, meeting the windshield. It, in turn, angles back for enhanced aerodynamics.

Beside the body, you notice the DRLs end where the bulgy wheel arches begin. It has a thin silver beltline that runs below the black side rocker panels before sloping up towards the rear.

It rises sharply at the C-pillar and flared rear wheel wells.

The EV6 roofline softly slopes to the back before angling sharply down. The design element provides the EV6 a sedan-type styling without compromising the interior headroom for rear passengers.

The flush door handles contribute to the futuristic exterior. The signature alloy wheels come in 19, 20 and 21-inch sizes.

How much does the Kia EV6 Cost?

2022 Kia EV6 MSRP is at a surprisingly reasonable price of $45,000 for the first edition orders. After that, the cost can rise to around $54,000 on the high-end models.

However, you can expect pricing to reach as high as $70,000 with the premium options.
